Sensoramalab is the virtual reality  experimentation laboratory at Aalborg University Esbjerg

Our research activities target the development of original interactive systems for rehabilitation applications.

We are a relatively small team of researchers whose expertises covers both human and technological aspects of interactive systems.
Subject in front of the large backprojection screen
For our VR experiments we dispose of a stereoscopic projection system from Cyviz. In order to immerse the subjects in a virtual environment, we ensure that:
  1. an important part of his field of view is covered,
  2. the stereoscopy enhances the perception of space,
  3. the 3D environment is displayed at a 1:1 scale,
  4. the subject controls the camera in a natural way (e.g. head tracking).
Immersive gaming installation
The lab started on the initiative of Tony Brooks to create "Sensorama", an experimentation space for interactive systems.

Three rooms in the basement of the AAUE building were first converted into a back cave ;), and in november 2006 the room was equiped with a large stereoscopic backprojection screen.
